The FIA have decided to suspend the three race ban McLaren received for lying to the Stewards in Melbourne. They decided to suspend the ban because of the clear change in culture at McLaren following the departure of team principal Ron Dennis and sporting director Dave Ryan.

There is hope that with the absence of Ron Dennis and the departure of sporting director Dave Ryan a new air of truthfulness and co-operation can exist between the FIA officials and the Vodafone McLaren F1 racing team.

Ron Dennis has finally split from the 43 years involvement in Formula 1. During the 28 years at McLaren he saw the team win seven constructor titles and ten driver titles. He spotted Lewis Hamilton’s potential in his pre-teen karting years and steared him to become Formula 1 world champion in 2008.
