Rubens Barrichello who had a brilliant performance in the lead up to the Spanish Grand Prix was more comfortable with his car than team mate Jenson Button and looked set to score his first win for Brawn. But it looks as if Ross Brawn master minded a strategy that gave both of his drivers the best chance they could have, and Button was lucky this time. What a great start to the season for Button – four firsts and a third!
After struggling all through the practice sessions on Friday and Saturday Jenson Button managed to pull off the steal of the year to put his Brawn-Mercedes on pole for the Spanish Grand Prix. He sounded ecstatic on the radio as he crossed the line at the end of qualifying.
